Corporate Social Responsibility
We recently became 7 billion people on our planet and we continue to grow. With limited resources it is important to share and care. M2 does this in several ways. For example, we reuse the waste from the workshop to heat our facilities in Rydöbruk. There is an ongoing work towards becoming more environmentally aware and active.
We believe it is of great importance to actually make a difference. To make a difference not only for our clients in our daily work but also to make a difference for people who for some reasons have been less fortunate in life than ourselves. If the staff at M2 performs a good job it will also benefit, not only our clients and ourselves but also someone who can really use a helping hand. The choice fell on Maternity Worldwide because of their idealistic approach and their enormous commitment. The maternity ward in Gimbie is also tangible in size and enables us all at M2 to follow its progress.
The point is to do something and not only talk about it and that is what M2 stands for.
Saving lives in childbirth
Every day almost 1.500 women die in pregnancy or childbirth. World leaders agree
that maternity health is among the most important issues in fighting poverty in the third world.
In Ethiopia only one in 20 women has access to hospital or health clinic. Consequently one out of 7 deaths among women in western Ethiopia is due to pregnancy or child birth. This leaves her children without support and without hope for the future for the community. Maternity Worldwide works to save the lives of these women and to secure a better future for them and their families. |
